It's Party Time!! and our goodbye day :(

So... things got a little bit sad today, when my family learned that my sister's family would not be joining us for the big Elf party that had been planned :( There were some angry words and alot of sad tears flying around, when FINALLY, Micki said "the party must go on", she threw on some Christmas music and the kids ripped into their gifts that I'd brought, I have never seen such excitement, it's a shame that Santa is not around to see the joy that HE brings to all the girls and boys that he brings gifts to on Christmas!

They Loved the Christmas PJ's we made for them!

At bed time we said our goodbyes, and when the kids went to sleep I made them one last gift to always remember the year we spent together, Christmas bulb ornaments with our pictures on them to hang on the tree.  I am so glad that Santa gave me this opportunity to come celebrate the most magical time of the year with my awesome new family.  It was so hard to leave them tonight :(

2008 Christmas Eve Elf Party

One of the BEST things about being at the Cabin is I'm only a few minutes from Penelope, it has been so awesome hanging out with her, all week we have been super busy working on projects for our elf party, we made all 6 of our kids Elf hats, little mini Christmas stockings, Christmas Pajama's, and some fun Christmas games, we also gathered up a few Christmas projects for them to do, made them a CD of our favorite Christmas songs, and brought them each a very special reindeer to leave with them when we have to return to the north pole tonight :(  I cannot wait for the kids to wake up and see all of our hard work when their cousins and Penelope arrive in the morning!

Christmas at the Cabin

Over the river and through the woods to the cabin for Christmas we go....
Wow was that like the longest car ride EVER or what? I think my family needs to invest in a little faster mode of transportation because that trip was B*O*R*I*N*G!

However Being at the cabin is TOTALLY worth the LOOOOOOOOOONG drive! I absolutely LOVE these spinny things on the ceilings, I like to spin and spin and then fall and watch the rest of the room keep on moving around me.. or it sure feels like it anywas!

It looked like the boys had a blast playing in the snow, and Eliana did a great job of helping mommy today!

I also got to meet Uncle Ron, but he sure is a character, that one! I can't wait for the rest of our vacation. Having FUN is way better then sitting around worrying that Santa will be here in 4 days to bring me back to the north pole :(

Tonight, I couldn't resist trying some of the yummy cookies that they had been making...

I think I ate TOO many, becaues I really have a belly ache, I'm hoping it goes away while I sleep so I can have more fun tomorrow!

Charlie Brown Christmas

Can you believe it? only ten more days until CHRISTMAS!! I'm so excited that one of my favorite Christmas shows will be on TV tonight. boy this TV thing sure can get addicting, good thing we dont have them at the north pole or there would be a whole lot of nothing getting done.
I left the kids a note that said I left them something in the tree as a hint to my favorite show that will be on channel 5 tomorrow night at 7pm! I really hope they like the Charlie Brown ornaments I brought for them!

A Trip to Visit Great Grams

This weekend we took a trip down to St James, MN to stay with Great Grams, what a sweet old gal she is! I had so much fun there. The kids helped Grams make home made ice cream, and it was DELICIOUS, I had never seen it made before. It was also great to meet Nana, the kids sure miss her and Papa alot when they are gone on the road. I know I was sure sad when I heard that they were going to be leaving. It mad me so sad that I started missing my own family a little. I decided to write an email to my Best Bud, Emerald Dusty Flake, He's a traveling elf. I was SUPER excited when he told me that he was near by and would stop by for a quick visit. I had fun showing him around my new home. He asked why the children were so sad and I told him it was because their Nana and Papa were going to be leaving and they wouldnt get to see them for a longlong time, We came up with a brilliant plan, that since Nana and Papa travel all over, and so does Emerald that he should go hang out with them and ride along in their "Purple Beast" How exciting for him! and them too of course!

Mall Of America!

WHAT AN AWESOME DAY!!

After the children got out of school we took a drive up to "the cities" thats what they kept calling it anyhow, our destinatioin was the biggest Mall in the world! The Mall Of America! Oh Man would my sister Penelope LOVE that place, there are over 520 stores not to mention the resteraunts and sweet shops, and a HUGE amusement park with rides right in the middle. I saw the biggest Christmas trees I have ever seen in my WHOLE life, and I have seen a LOT of trees!

First up we headed to Build A Bear workshop, the boys really wanted to make a Christmas Moose, it was so much fun to watch them! And Eliana got to buy her baby doll Gracie a new red dress. We took alot of pictures and had some good food.

Then we had to go to the airport to pick up their dad from his hunting trip out west.

I really love my host family!

The Kindness Box

I just finished making a "Kindness Box" for under our Christmas tree, I'm hoping it will help my family remember their manners, I sure wish I could enlist these kids in Miss Marla Mapleberry's Manners Management class.

I left the children a note that everytime I see one of them doing a good deed or if they see eachother, then to make a little note and put it in the Kindness Box, then on Christmas Eve we can read them and be reminded of how important it is to be kind to eachother.

I really hope they like it, I think it will be so much fun to read the happy moments on Christmas eve

I'm Here!

I am posting this update from my host family's computer, it is ALOT of work to use these HUGE keyboards, HOLY BUCKETS!  I emailed Penelope and she said to use it like our Dance Dance Elf Game... BRILLIANT, now I just dance on the keys and I can type, she is so smart!

Let me tell you all about my new family!

First is Dad, his name is Dan, he likes to go hunting and fishing, I only saw him a short while before he headed off on his first ever plane ride. He left on Saturday morning for the State of Washington to go on an Elk Hunt... pretty sure the reindeer would NOT approve, BUT if it puts food on the table then I say OK! I am kind of hopping that he is the thread that pulls this crew together because they sure have been out of hand the last two days!

Mom, her name is Micki. Isn't that a cute name? I bet she gets lots of Mickey Mouse jokes thrown at her? She is a busy women, always up to something, today she worked really hard on pictures on the computer, I hid in the tree and watched until Zack found me. Zack is the big brother of the family... well I think Preston might be the BIGGEST, but Zack is the Oldest, I know ALL about being small. Maybe I never mentioned that Penelope and I are some of the smallest elves in our village. Most elves are much larger than we are for our age. Anyhow, Zack seems pretty cool, I can't quite figure him out tho, I think he is at that age in life that they were telling us about at Training camp where kids start to wonder if Santa is real, so far I think he is a believer but I'm not sure? He likes to be in his room, he was the first to find me this morning, I fell asleep working on my blog page, then I crawled into bed to snuggle with Eliana. She's the little sister, she has a real bad cough right now so she sleeps in the living room on a big reclinning chair, its right next to the Christmas tree where the kids put me to sleep in my sleigh, I like that she is near me, it reminds me of when we were elflings and would sneak out to sleep by the tree. Ellee is a real cutie, but I definetly have seen why her momma calls her Lucy.. as in a shortend version of Lucifer, that girl is definetly not scorring ANY points for the nice list since I have been here anyhow, don't worry she is NOT the only naughty one, her Partner in Crime, Mr Preston is right there with her in most of her misbehavings. I felt bad for the mom today because the kids just would NOT listen, it was really sad. Tonight when it was time to read to me from The Santa Claus Book, the kids got in a fight and were sent to bed, I didnt get my story until Mom read it to me, She's a good mom, but I think she could use a bit of a break?

Anyhow thats my info on my family so far, I think we need a little Christmas in our house!!

One Month until Christmas!

That's right we are only one month from Christmas! So I've been doing my investigating on my family and how cool is it that one of my kids' has a birthday today, I've been really busy trying to keep up with class, today was our last day at Miss Marla Mapleberry's Manners Management and Friday is graduation day from Training Camp and we are off. I heard from the reindeer that Santa is sending out letters to the families this week. It's hush hush because some of the elves were not happy about their Jobs over the next month and Santa did not want any interfearance from them?

So tonight I am busy getting all of my things ready for my journey. I cannot ever recall being so excited and nervous at the same time in all of my life!!

Tomorrow I am going to work on writting my letter to my kids. I really hope they like me! I already love them just from what I have read they seem like really great kids.

Introducing My Host Family

I could hardly wait to get home from Training Camp today, We got the names of our Holiday Host Family! I get to visit a family of 5, they are from Minnesota. Luckily the mom seems pretty on top of things and keeps blogs and info online for the children, so I can get to know more about them before my visit. The oldest is Zack, he is 10 1/2 he has a facebook page, but it is set to private so his mom can keep tabs on the activity, thats pretty smart I guess? Anyhow, Santa used his magic to let me into his page so I could read a bit about him. It doesnt look like he's updated recently, but from what I can tell he likes Pokemon, soccer, webkinz, and video games. Sounds like my kind of kid! Next there is Preston, he seems like a barrel of laughs,  He is just about to turn 6. I was reading on his site and it says he likes music, and playing his guitar, and that he likes to make stuff. From what I can tell he really likes camouflage, and he goes to something called Kindergarten. I have to look more into what type of facility that is. Then there is a little girl, her name is questionable, on her website it says she's a Princess. She is reffered to as Eliana, Ellee, Lucy, L... and a ton of other things, poor kid must be really confused, I know I sure was.  She is a cute little thing, she has curly hair and a sweet little smile. Apparently she likes to cause alot of mischief, I think we will get along GREAT! The mom's name is Micki, I wonder if she knows Mickey Mouse? she keeps in contact with the cyber world on her blog, facebook, and a bunch of message boards, this woman is everywhere, she also has a business website for Photography, she does an ok job taking pictures, might have to swap notes with her durring my visit. And then there is the Dad, his name is Dan, kind of reminds me of Santa claus with his rosey red cheeks. He spends alot of time at work, and doing outdoorsy things like hunting and fishing. it says in my notes that he is a real jokester and likes to pull pranks.

Here is their Christmas card from last year =)  Overall my family looks really great. I can hardly wait to go see them. This weeks assignment for Training camp is to learn as much as we can about our Holiday Host Family. I think it will be fun :)

The Latest and Greatest

I have so much news to report back to all of you! Halloween was a BLAST, my stinkin camera went on the fritz tho. I put a new one on the top of my list for Christmas this year, I am going stir crazy with out my memory saver. I'm hoping someone else got some good pictures of us dressed up before we went trick or treating. It was so great to knock on doors and people give you candy, I had a pretty bad belly ache when reporting for my first day of Training Camp on Saturday.

Training camp is a major information overload. Today We were given a whole list of manners to practice before we leave for duty. I found out that we can't interact with our family... only when they aren't looking. Santa gave us each special mailboxes, he said that we can ask our host family to help us decorate them. On Monday we will get to find out who our host families will be. Only 5 more days. There is so much excitement in the air! Everyone has all their holiday decorations polished up and ready to go for this years holiday season, every where you look you can see the magic of Christmas beeming brightly!

Mrs Claus made us all special sleeping bags that will help restore our magic each night, and Frosty gave us some special Magic snow to put inside. My best friend, ED is helping me make sleighs so far we finished Penelope and BB's, and mine is almost complete. Hopefully we will have enough time to make ED one too.

Well I better log off for the night, Training camp starts bright and early and there is no tollerence for sleepy heads, sure hope my host family lets me sleep in.

Heading to Halloween Town!

I am going to have SOOOO much fun, at the EOTM Whats Up Meeting last night I found out that you dress up in costumes of funny or scary things and go around house to house knocking on doors and when someone comes to the door you say Trick Or Treat, most people give you treats and some ask you to do tricks, this has to rank up there pretty darn high on the SUPER COOL Holiday meter! We leave after work tomorrow, I can hardly wait!

More News from the North Pole

Hello all!

Once again I am here to share with all of you MORE exciting news, there sure was alot of excitement at the workshop with all of the Magical Elf Orders received yesterday. I found out that some families in the Real world are getting all excited this week about another Holiday, from what I gather, they dress up and visit eachother and get CANDY... yes you read that right C*A*N*D*Y, one of my most FAVORITE things!! Their was a sign up sheet in the break room for any elves interested in visiting Halloween Town, how cool would that be? I signed up, and asked Sassy to help me out with dressing up. I will find out more information at the End of The Month Whats Up meeting on Wednesday.

I better go hit the showers and get some rest! I need to get myself on a better time schedule before I leave on my assignment. I wonder what the time difference will be where my host family lives?

I was so excited when I posted my orders that I forgot to mention that Penelope received hers too. Looks like we will both get to serve as Shelf Elfs, she was screaming when she got her letter from Bernard, so loud that I could hear her 5 blocks away! What a MAGICAL day! The count down is on until we head off to E.I.T. and then to our host family, I wonder how many kids will be in my host family? I wonder if Santa will let me bring my pet Penguin, Joybelle. I have never been to the Real world, I have only ever seen lots of pictures. OHHH I am SOOO excited!

Hi, I'm Skeeter =0)

I am rather new to the world of blogging, but I thought perhaps I should tell you a little bit more about myself. My name is Skeeter Jingle Peppermints,
I was born on the most magical day of the year in the North Pole. I love to hear my mom tell the story about the day I was born. My actual due date was January 1st, But mom was SURE that she would be chosen for a very special Christmas Delivery. it was Just after Dinner when the glitter fell from the ceiling and she knew it was time. With a quick trip to Doc MervynBerry's She was ready for my arrival, but BOY was she shocked when Dr MervynBerry told her it was TWINS!! Yep thats right, double trouble, I of course am the oldest being born at 8:46pm but my sister Penelope Twinkle Peppermints was only 6 minutes behind me at 9:02pm. My sister is really awesome, we are VERY close,
I love her more than anything in the world, I am really hoping we end up on the same Elf Duty so that we can stay in really close contact. Penelope and I are the oldest in our family. Next is our sister Sassafras Sparklin Peppermints,
she was chosen to be one of Mrs Claus Special Seamstress Elves, so we get lots of home made stuff from Sassy that we really love. Then there is Blissful Bubba Louie-Peppermints,
He is actually a very special magical elf, he wasn't born on Christmas Day like most magical elves, but my mom and dad addopted him on Christmas Day, oh what a joyful day it was for me to FINALLY have a brother! His real Dad was an Elf on The Shelf, I used to love to hear his stories, but then one day he decided he would rather live in the REAL world than be a secret spy, he wanted Bubba to have every oppuurtinity possible so he let my parents adopt him.

I also have lots of elf friends, there are so so many, I can't wait to tell you all about them!

Of course there are many other awesome Elves here in the North Pole, but these are all my closest friends and family.

Santa's calling so I must run for now.

Holiday Hugs…..Skeeter
